GLUE Lecture | The Next Generation of Lateral Flow Assays: Integration of Nanomaterials
About the Speaker
Arben Merkoçi, PhD is currently ICREA Professor and director of the Nanobioelectronics & Biosensors Group at Institut Català de Nanociencia i Nanotecnologia (ICN2), a BIST center situated at Autonomous University of Barcelona (UAB) campus. Prof. Merkoçi’s research is focused on the design and application of cutting-edge nanotechnology and nanoscience-based biosensors with interest for diagnostics. These nanobiosensors are based on the integration of biological molecules (DNA, antibodies, cells, and enzymes) and other (bio)receptors with micro- and nanostructures and applied in diagnostics, environmental monitoring or safety and security.
About the GLUE Lecture Series
The Oliver Brand Memorial Lecture Series includes Global Lectures Uniting Everyone (GLUE) which is the Atlanta Center for Microsystems Engineered Point-of-care Technologies (ACME POCT) flagship event series. These talks serve as our primary venue to educate on the entrepreneurial pathway and product lifecycle. It provides a forum to pitch clinical problems and teach about the technologies most promising for meeting these clinical needs.
